ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY
ST. FRANCIS XAVIER UNIVERSITY, CANADA
RESEARCH AREAS: THEORETICAL CHEMICAL PHYSICS, THEORETICAL BIOPHYSICS, COMPUTATIONAL BIOCHEMSTRY, APPLIED EXPERIMENTAL BIOCHEMISTRY
My research is focussed on the physics and chemistry of freezing of biological environments. I am interested in theoretical and computational techniques such as Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo, Electronic Structure Methods, Dissipative Particle Dynamics and Phase Field Theory to model systems. In my applied experimental work, I am interested in developing cryoprotectants for Food and investigating freezing of fundamental biological structures with applications in Health. I am a also a committed educator who has taught courses in Chemistry, Physics and Engineering departments. I am an avid promoter of science and science education at all levels in society.
