Science educational research to improve practical science teaching.

Im my educational research activities, I am interested in developing a better understanding and

novel teaching approaches in teaching science (please see publications for more information).

The goals would be in a broad sense to:

1) better educate students in fundamental ideas in science

2) incorporate hands-on approaches to communicating and teaching science

3) use service learning to inspire and make life-long science learning practices common

4) develop better pedagogical approaches in teaching science

My collaborators are Katarin Macleod (education-StFX) and Jamie Powell (physics-StFX)

Current Project: Developing a combined semi-quantitative and quantitative approach in evaluations for second year Biochemistry.
